This song starts out with an Aaron Copland type Fanfare then goes into two verses with a story telling us that they are marionettes and see a lot of strife and pain in the world but are helpless to do anything about it.The Gershwin - esk piano solo cadenza starts out pretty, with the marionettes dancing around the stage , but soon turns a little dark mostly depicted by some of the dissonant notes on the piano. Then there are two more verses finishing out the story by them admitting that they are, in fact, made of wood and strings and it's not their destiny to be real people, although their sentiment in most cases is more real !!!! Ken Lovelett playing - Steinway Baby Grand piano, Kurzweil, Hammered Dulcimer, Drums and Percussion. Tom Rosato - Bass with Bill Lauf and Lilly Kirkpatrick on vocals also featuring Bucky Milam playing flugelhorn. All rights reserved !
